My name is Janet. I am a freelance writer. I have published over 132 children's books, but my biggest love has always been for dinosaurs. I enjoy reading and studying them and I even plan my vacations around visiting dinosaur museums. I have published 36 books on them, including a twenty-four-volume series Dinosaurs! which won the 1989 Summit Award for Best Children's Nonfiction.

In 1990, on a dig in western Colorado, I dug up the first bone found of a brand new dinosaur, Mymoorapelta.
